How to Fit your Car Seat Correctly

Approximately 70% of child restraints are not installed correctly. A child restraint that has not been fitted properly can result in serious injury or even the death of a child in a crash.

Thankfully ISOFIX has come along to make fitting car seats much easier and much more difficult to get wrong! But you do need an ISOFIX fitted car to make it work properly. What is ISOFIX ? It is basically two metal bars hidden in where the folding gap of your back seat is. You may see a small button or t-shirt style tab, you could also check your car manual or call your garage where you purchased your car and ask them i.e. Toyota. Have your year and model numbers ready. Most of our top brand seats have YouTube style videos you can watch to help you get it right. You can always get it checked at a registered fitter RTA fitter chosen from their website.

Call the RTA HOTLINE 1800 042 865 for a list of fitters in your area
